The heart of this web site is our interactive database of lost and found
Ohio pets. Almost 20,000 lost and found reports have been submitted since 1998. Most are for Franklin County (Columbus area) where PET FBI is best known,
but there are many reports for almost all other Ohio counties as well.

WARNING: PET FOOD
RECALL: The ASPCA is advising pet parents to discontinue the use of certain dog and cat foods manufactured by Mars Petcare US. On September 12, the company issued a nationwide recall of certain foods due to potential contamination with a Salmonella serotype called Schwarzengrund. The recall includes several widely distributed brands of dry pet food, including Pedigree, Special Kitty, Paws & Claws, Natural Dog Food, Red Flannel, Country Acres, Buju & Ziggie, Member's Mark, Natural Cat Food, Retriever, Bruiser, Doggy Bag, PMI Nutrition and Pet Pride.
“Pet parents should wash their hands after handling any potentially contaminated pet food,” says Dr. Steven Hansen, the ASPCA’s Senior Vice President of Animal Health Services, “and immediately consult with a veterinarian if any signs or symptoms are noticed in their pets.”
For more information on the recall and affected brands, please visit our website. If you suspect your pet has eaten contaminated food, please call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center’s 24-hour hotline at (888) 426-4435.
WARNING: Beware of chicken
jerky made in China! Has caused illness and even death especially in small
breed dogs. For more details go to
www.laciessite.org
WARNING! Never Leave Your Pet
Unattended!
We frequently receive reports from people whose pets were taken from
their fenced yards, screened porches, and even cars. Pet theft
is widespread and is NOT confined to only "bad" neighborhoods.
Also, there were recently several incidents of pets being shot with a bow
and arrow through the slats of a fence in NW Columbus.
WARNING - FOUR PAWS
"Pimple Ball" results in amputation of dogs' tongue. These
toys are designed with a hole that creates a vacuum when the dog sticks his
tongue in and then it can't be removed. At first Four Paws would not acknowledge
the problem. For full story go to http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2008/09/pet_food_recalls101.html

Feline Spay or Neuter: $40
Low-cost canine spay/neuter
For information CLICK HERE
Too many puppies, zillions of kittens, too few homes.
Every single day, thousands are put to "sleep" - which is
just a way to avoid saying "put to
death". Most are healthy, young and adoptable.
Don't add to the problem! Have your pets spayed or neutered.
Even if you can find homes for the litter, every new puppy or kitten is
virtually a death warrant for another puppy or kitten waiting to be adopted at a
shelter. To find out about low cost programs or clinics go to our
Spay and Neuter page.

Pet FBI is dedicated to reducing
pet
overpopulation through our OUTREACH spay/neuter/TNR program.
100% of every dollar donated is used to help disadvantaged people and
caretakers of feral cat colonies spay or neuter the animals in their care.
