The heart of this web site is our interactive database of lost and found
Ohio pets. Over 36,000 lost and found reports have been submitted since 1998. Most are for Franklin County (Columbus area) where PET FBI is best known,
but there are many reports for almost all other Ohio counties as well.

Too many puppies, zillions of kittens, too few homes.
Every single day, thousands are put to "sleep" - which is
just a way to avoid saying "put to
death". Most are healthy, young and adoptable.
Don't add to the problem! Have your pets spayed or neutered.
Even if you can find homes for the litter, every new puppy or kitten is
virtually a death warrant for another puppy or kitten waiting to be adopted at a
shelter. To find out about low cost programs or clinics go to our
Spay and Neuter page.

WARNING! Never Leave Your Pet
Unattended!
We frequently receive reports from people whose pets were taken from
their fenced yards, screened porches, and even cars. Pet theft
is widespread and is NOT confined to only "bad" neighborhoods.
Another reason not to leave pets unattended - a Yorkie was
attacked by coyotes in the Little Turtle neighborhood of Franklin County. Yes!
there are coyotes in Ohio and they can even be found in suburban areas
like Dublin. Other kinds of wildlife including foxes, raccoons and hawks may
also pose a threat to domestic animals,
