Opus Back Home! Missing over three months!

June 1st, that was the last time Lori saw the family feline, Opus. She tried everything to find him. When she heard about PET FBI, she submitted a report. She was so impressed with the service that she became a volunteer. She kept monitoring the database for matches, but no Opus. She was starting to lose hope, although one thing she learned as a volunteer for PET FBI is that cats often show up weeks and months after they are lost. Then, just after Labor Day, good news! Here is her account of how Opus was returned to her:

The nice lady that found him had seen him about a month ago and called me. Of course by the time I got to the park he was gone but she didn't give up hope. She said that she could hear him crying in her head and kept thinking about him. One day she was going out and thought she would just drive up past the park and there he was. She got out of her car and sat down on the grass and called him by name. She said his tail went up and he came running. This was on Monday (Labor Day).... She called our house but we were out of town however, she did speak to my sister. She left a message later that day on our answering machine with all the details. My sister had also called me in Atlanta to let me know. I called her as soon as we got home Tuesday night and I picked him up last night. He came right to me and started to purr (of course, I was crying my eyes out). When we came home, he made a beeline for his bowl. He is very thin but I think he'll be ok.

I tried to give her our reward but she refused and said me being a volunteer for PET FBI and seeing my joy over having him back was enough for her. I did, however, send her flowers today, just as a thank you for not giving up.Please do put this on happy end of the week. Hopefully, it will give others hope.   Lori
